Car paint in a spray can, application – painting of non-visible vehicle parts.
Complete guide to local repair of a car's trunk lid
1. Rust Removal : First, the rust must be removed from the surface to be painted using a rust converter. This process involves removing the sealant, sanding the surface, and applying the rust converter. After the treated surface has dried, it is sanded.
2. Preparation for painting : It is important to cover the area of the bodywork that is not to be painted with masking tape and protective film to prevent paint from penetrating adjacent surfaces.
3. Sanding : The surface after treatment with the rust converter must be carefully matted to ensure good adhesion of the primer.
4. Degrease : Use a silicone remover to degrease the repair area by wiping the surface with a cloth.
5. Applying the primer : Epoxy primer from the spray can is applied in 2-3 coats with an interval of 10-15 minutes, with a final drying time of 30 minutes.
6. Painting : Shake the spray can of automotive paint well before application. Apply the paint in 2–3 coats, allowing 10–15 minutes of drying time between each coat.
7. Applying the varnish : The clear varnish is sprayed in two "dry" coats to ensure good adhesion and prevent sagging. A third "wet" coat is then applied for the final glossy finish.
8. Drying time : After completing the repair, the vehicle should be left for 24 hours to allow the paint layer to dry completely.
Important! Perform the repair at the optimal temperature (approx. 20°C). Avoid working in hot weather to avoid problems with the distribution of paint and clear coat.
